Description
Wednesdays 18:00–19:15, with a 15-minute practica included at 19:15–19:30 When you sign up for this course, access to the Tuesday drop-in workshop & social is included in the price. 4 weeks — September 30 to October 21 Requires foundations of zouk. Explore the comfort and adaptability of the abraço (embrace), learning how to adjust your connection to different partners and moments in the dance. This cycle is about tuning into the small details that make close embrace feel natural and comfortable, rather than tense or uncertain, with any partner you dance with. A quick note: since this class involves close embrace, please come freshly showered or, if that's not possible, bring a change of shirt, wipes, and deodorant. The practica right after class is a relaxed, no-pressure space to put what you've just learned into practice with your classmates. How it works: You don't need a partner to join — just show up. During class we'll rotate partners, so you get to practice with different people and build real versatility as a dancer. What to wear: Comfortable clothes you can move freely in. For shoes, indoor shoes you can easily turn in work great — or dance in socks. Avoid shoes with heavy grip, as they make turns harder on your knees. Etiquette: Be respectful, communicate clearly, and come fresh and ready to dance close with others. Everyone's here to learn and have a good time in a welcoming space. We can't wait to dance with you!
