Wednesdays Zouk Sequences 19:30–20:30, and Zouk Lab 20:30–21:00 When you sign up for the full 16 weeks, access to the Tuesday drop-in workshop & social is included in the price. 16 weeks — September 2 to December 16, divided into 4 independent blocks of 4 classes. Join any single block, or take them all as a package: Block 1: September 2 – September 23 Block 2: September 30 – October 21 Block 3: October 28 – November 18 Block 4: November 25 – December 16 Each block introduces its own new sequence, so you can join whichever blocks fit your schedule. Requires foundations of zouk, including basic step, simple turn, viradinha, elastico, lateral, soltinho, bonus and yo-yo. Already comfortable with the basics and ready to build on them? This is the course for you. Each 4-week cycle, we take on a new sequence, learning to lead and follow it while polishing the details together as a group. You'll discover interesting and logical ways of stringing movements together, and learn how to add your own personal flair and style within the sequence. This is 100% lead-and-follow — not choreography — so everything you practice here is directly transferable to the social dance floor with any partner. Repeating the same sequence over the full 4-week cycle gives you the reps you need to truly ingrain the movements in your body, rather than just recognizing them. That repetition is where the real growth happens: it's what lets you stop thinking about the individual steps and start focusing on the transitions between them — the small connective moments that make a sequence feel smooth and natural rather than mechanical. Over time, this builds real fluency, so the movements and the flow between them become second nature on the social floor. Zouk Lab Wednesdays 20:30–21:00, directly after Zouk Sequences — included in your course Zouk Lab is your time to work on what matters most to you. Instead of following a set curriculum, you'll set your own personal goals — whether that's smoothing out a specific movement, gaining more confidence leading or following, working on musicality, or anything else you're currently focused on — and spend the half hour training towards them. Teachers are there throughout to guide you, answer questions, and give hands-on feedback tailored to what you're working on, so the time is shaped around your own progress rather than a group agenda. It's a relaxed, low-pressure way to turn what you learned into real, personal growth.
