Progessive Courses
Our progressive dance courses are designed for focused learning, individual growth and connection. In small groups, you’ll receive personal feedback in classes, giving you the attention and guidance you need to develop your technique and work towards your own dance goals.
You’ll train with the same group from week to week, giving you the chance to get to know your classmates, practise with familiar partners and support each other as you learn and improve together.
From Lambada to Zouk
Lambada emerged in northern Brazil in the late 1980s, bringing together influences from different Brazilian, Caribbean and African dance traditions. Fast, expressive and sensual, it became known around the world for its distinctive rhythm, playful energy and close partner connection.
As dancers continued to explore and evolve the dance, new possibilities emerged. In the 1990s, Lambada began to slow down and incorporate the smooth rhythms of Caribbean Zouk music, creating space for more fluid movement, body isolations and expressive connection. This evolving style eventually became known as Brazilian Zouk.
Today, both Lambada and Brazilian Zouk are danced all over the world. They have developed into distinct dances, but remain deeply connected — sharing a history, a culture, a love of music and movement, and the joy of dancing together.
